Support homeless families by working directly with adults or kids who are facing homelessness, or behind the scenes in supportive roles.

Child and Youth Program

Work directly with children ages 0-18. This includes structured program times, tutoring/homework help, and one-on-one mentoring.

Community Engagement

Help bring the community together to support homeless families through donation drives, events, and hands on service.

Grounds Maintenance

This includes mowing, weeding, gardening, watering and clean up of the grounds around the Family Hope Center and shelter units.

Adult Training Program

Work directly with the Moms and Dads, teach classes and provide coaching support for both Employment and Financial Programs.

Administrative

Support the work behind the scenes that keeps Vine Maple Place running smoothly.

Unit Cleaning and Repair

Help prepare an emergency shelter unit through cleaning and light repairs so a family leaving homelessness can move into a clean, safe space.

Last year, 957 volunteers generously donated 13,175 hours.

People wearing masks and gloves are unloading food boxes from a truck on a city street, engaged in a community distribution effort. Cars are parked in the background.

In Kind Donations and Drives

Sensory Tables for Kids
Help children learn, explore, and grow through hands-on sensory play. Donations of sensory materials support cognitive development, language skills, fine motor development, and social-emotional learning through fun, interactive experiences.
School Supply Drive
Help children facing homelessness start the school year with confidence by donating backpacks, new school supplies, and hygiene essentials. Every donation is matched by Red Canoe Credit Union up to $5,000 and 5,000 pounds of supplies.
Hygiene Basics Needed
Homeless families often arrive with only the clothes on their backs. Help provide essential hygiene items so moms and kids have what they need to shower, stay healthy, and feel cared for.
A Meal For a Family (Meals In A Bag)
Provide all the ingredients for a home cooked meal, packed in a bag with an easy to follow recipe for a family to enjoy together.
Household Items Needed
Help a family feel at home by providing new household essentials, including bath towels, pillows, twin mattresses, bed frames, and other necessities.
Women’s Workwear
Donate professional clothing that helps moms feel confident as they prepare for interviews, start a new job, and build a brighter future.
