From Homeless to Hopeful: Chantelle’s Journey

For over two years, Chantelle and her three kids had nowhere to go—bouncing between a friend’s house and a tent. With no car, no job, and a chronic illness, survival was a daily battle. They never had enough food, and the stress was overwhelming. Anxiety and depression weighed heavily on all of them.

When she got the call that a shelter apartment was available at Vine Maple Place, Chantelle could hardly believe it. Once safe, VMP’s supportive programs made all the difference—counseling to help her process the trauma of homelessness, financial coaching to rebuild stability, help to find their own apartment, and tutoring to help her kids catch up in school and regain confidence.

Now, Chantelle and her kids are rebuilding their lives.

With the stability of a home, they no longer live in survival mode. They’ve moved into their own apartment, and the kids are thriving—catching up in school, making friends, and finally able to focus on being kids again. Chantelle is working on her health, gaining financial stability, and building a future where they never have to worry about being homeless again.
